Regular Workouts
The JYD hold regular, weekly group rides that are
often supplemented by informal group rides and
mid-week workouts. The workouts are open to all
members and levels.
Racing
Our members can be found racing throughout the
province and beyond. In addition to single day
events, members have organized road trips to attend
multi-day stage races both in Canada and abroad.
Race Promotion
As a long-standing members of the Manitoba Cycling
Association and Triathlon Manitoba (the provincial
governing bodies for these sports in Manitoba), we
have been very active in race promotion and have
hosted sanctioned races every year. Our events have
gained a reputation as being well organized and are
eagerly anticipated by the cycling community at
large. We also have members from our club sitting on
the Executive Boards of both of these groups.
Kid's Training
The Junkyard Dogs participate both in the Kids of
Mud and Kids of Steel programs that run across the
province. Besides weekly training from experienced
coaches, we regularly participate in races and
events held throughout Manitoba
Manitoba Youth Team
The JYD are proud to have members participating in
the Manitoba Youth Teams for cycling and triathlon.
These young people continue their training at the
next level and look forward to being a part of the
sport for years to come.
Social Events
Club social activities include seasonal
get-togethers (ie: summer BBQ, Christmas party,
etc.), year-end award presentations for the sports
and our Annual General Meeting held in January.
Discounts
Atomic has negotiated discounts on merchandise and
service from Portage's own Two Tired Boys and remain
a partner with them in all of our activities.
